OTTAWA — Tim Hudak has made 2014’s first election promise.
The writ hasn’t actually been dropped yet — though many Queen’s Park observers expect it will be at some point this spring — but the Ontario Progressive Conservative leader is already trying to make jobs and economic growth a key issue in voters’ minds whenever they do go to the polls.
On Monday, Hudak announced a plan to create one million new jobs in Ontario over eight years — an ambitious target, especially for a province that typically creates about 600,000 new jobs over the same period.
