Byelection campaign gets nasty in final days
February 11, 2014
Former Thornhill Progressive Conservative MPP Peter Shurman, whose resignation in December spurred Thursday’s byelection, came out swinging at his own former party Monday, blasting leader Tim Hudak and the PCs.
Appearing on Sun TV today, the former Tory finance critic was critical of all three parties.
Mr. Shurman, who was popular with voters in Thornhill but had a public falling out with Mr. Hudak last September over his refusal to pay back expenses on an apartment he rented in Toronto while living in Niagara-on-the Lake, said: “You’ve got the Hudak Conservatives where a plan without a vision is a nightmare. What are you going to vote for?”
