Hudak abandons ‘right-to-work’ platform

In the clearest sign yet that his party is gearing up for a possible spring election, Tim Hudak announced Friday that the Progressive Conservatives will not campaign on bringing so-called right-to-work legislation to Ontario.

The major policy reversal comes after the question of making union membership and payment of dues optional caused public rifts with Tory candidates and internal dissent within Hudak’s caucus, with some fearing the anti-labour policy could cost the party the next election.
