A new research study conducted by the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) indicates that Progressive Conservative party leader Tim Hudak’s proposal to cut 100,000 public sector jobs would have negative impacts across the province and result in a jump in unemployment rates.
The study says the proposal could lead to approximately 62,892 lost jobs and drive up Toronto’s unemployment rate to 9.6 per cent.
